Overview

The Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift at Johnson Thermal Systems is responsible for the daily maintenance of onsite equipment, ensuring smooth production flow with minimal downtime. This role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and managing inventory for parts and supplies in a warehouse/shop floor environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Oversee inventory of equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized maintenance or repair
  • Perform routine inspections and risk assessments of machinery
  • Create schedules and check sheets for daily equipment functionality
  • Maintain records of equipment depreciation within the software system

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • 1-2 years of relevant machinery experience
  • Forklift certification
  • Technical training or vocational certificate in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of mechanical operating systems of gas, diesel and natural gas engines
  • Experience with preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently
