Overview

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Ithaca, New York, to support its Food Enterprise. This role involves performing a variety of industrial maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of food manufacturing systems and equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document all completed work and conditions found using maintenance software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair components and systems, including heavy mobile equipment and hydraulic systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools and hand tools
  • Comprehend mechanical/electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Operate forklifts and maintain safety compliance
  • Repair equipment near explosives
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Work varied indoor and outdoor conditions

Required skills

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform various physical tasks
  • Minimum one year of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to work overtime and in varied conditions
  • Current ATF certification or ability to obtain it upon hire
  • Experience with SAP or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) or willingness to acquire certification
  • Technical diploma in industrial maintenance or equivalent experience
