Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks in residential buildings, ensuring a safe and positive living environment for tenants. This full-time position involves making repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests, with a focus on teamwork and community support.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine general building maintenance tasks and janitorial duties
  • Investigate maintenance requests for apartments and common areas
  • Make repairs in plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and lock systems
  • Track maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance using spreadsheets
  • Assist with maintaining building security systems and report issues
  • Educate tenants on proper use of apartment amenities
  • Assist with custodial duties in common areas
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Required skills

  • One year of maintenance or related field experience
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and lock systems
  • Ability to perform basic computer tasks
  • Valid Washington driver's license and insurance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
