Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their specialized portfolio enterprise in Johnson, Vermont. This full-time position requires a hands-on approach to industrial maintenance, focusing on both preventative and reactive tasks within a diverse set of operational contexts.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document all completed work and conditions using maintenance computer software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair various mechanical and electrical systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools including power tools and hand tools
  • Comprehend mechanical/electrical schematics and operation manuals
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment, adhering to safety policies
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

Required skills

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Experience in maintenance and/or electrical troubleshooting (minimum 4 years)
  • Basic computer skills and planning/scheduling experience
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Leadership experience and previous forklift experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Technical knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
