Overview

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Swanton, Vermont. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and safety of the facility through various maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document all completed work and conditions found using maintenance computer software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair various components and systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools including power tools and hand tools
  • Comprehend mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and operation manuals
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment, as well as aerial lifts
  • Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Required skills

  • Experience in industrial maintenance
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment
  • Experience with mechanical schematics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Planning and/or scheduling experience
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous forklift experience and leadership experience are preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Technical degree in maintenance is a plus
