Overview

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Technician in West Chazy, NY, to join their specialized portfolio enterprise. This full-time role focuses on preventive, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance to support the diverse businesses within the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document all completed work and conditions found using maintenance software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair various mechanical and electrical systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools including power, pneumatic, and electric tools
  • Comprehend mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and operation manuals
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean work environment
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

Required skills

  • Experience in maintenance and electrical troubleshooting (minimum 4 years)
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50lbs
  • Basic computer skills and planning/scheduling experience
  • Understanding of safety procedures and ability to work in diverse conditions
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Previous forklift and leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Technical degree in maintenance-related field preferred
