Overview

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Rouses Point, New York. This role is vital in maintaining the company's industrial facilities, ensuring safe and reliable operations while supporting diverse businesses such as animal nutrition and health. The technician will focus on preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks as part of a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document completed work and conditions using maintenance computer software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair various mechanical and electrical components and systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools, including power, hand, and pneumatic tools
  • Comprehend mechanical/electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Required skills

  • Experience in industrial maintenance (minimum 4 years)
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting up to 50lbs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Planning and scheduling experience
  • Forklift operation experience (preferred)
  • Leadership experience (preferred)
  • Experience with SAP or CMMS (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word (preferred)
  • Technical degree in maintenance (preferred)
  • Understanding of pneumatic and electrical systems
