Overview

Cargill is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Plattsburgh, New York, to support its specialized portfolio enterprise in providing food and agricultural solutions. The role entails performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the facility operates efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility
  • Document work completed and conditions found using maintenance computer software
  • Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair various components and systems including pumps, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools and hand tools
  • Comprehend mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Required skills

  • 4 years of maintenance experience or electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting up to 50lbs
  • Experience with planning and scheduling
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with SAP or CMMS
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Technical degree in maintenance
  • Knowledge of inventory systems
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems, PLC communications, and automation devices
