Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Metalcraft of Mayville is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving mechanical equipment, automated PLCs, and robotics used in production operations. This role involves working closely with the Maintenance Manager and requires a strong aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Manage equipment calibrations and programmable device configurations
  • Coordinate maintenance of inventories of commonly used items
  • Develop and manage relationships with outside contractors and vendors
  • Generate daily work logs to track work orders and ongoing project assignments
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 10 years of maintenance experience, ideally in a metal fabrication shop
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and assessing maintenance needs
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC troubleshooting and programming
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical P&ID drawings
  • Detail-oriented with self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Technology
  • Preferred: Journeyman certification in relevant fields
