Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician at SHP Management Corp is responsible for overall facilities maintenance, reporting to the Assistant Superintendent or Building Superintendent. This role involves a variety of maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and more, ensuring that all facilities and grounds are well-maintained and sanitary.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Prepare apartment turnovers according to established guidelines.
  • Clean community buildings, laundry rooms, and maintenance areas.
  • Collect debris on the property daily.
  • Coordinate unit inspections with the Superintendent and/or Property Manager.
  • Be available for emergency duties, such as snow removal and fire response.
  • Complete incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Accept maintenance requests only from the Superintendent or Property Manager.

Required skills

  • 3 years of experience in property maintenance
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, appliance repair, grounds maintenance, roofing, and flooring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability
  • Dependability and trustworthiness
  • Ability to organize and complete work within deadlines
  • Availability for on-call rotation
