Overview

WestRock is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Greensboro, North Carolina, to perform general mechanical maintenance of facilities and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on various systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components within a sustainable packaging environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance of manufacturing equipment
  • Repair and maintain facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air
  • Perform basic handiwork including replacing light bulbs and cleaning drains
  • Prepare and operate machine tools to repair machine parts and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot electric and electronic problems and perform inspections of fire alarms
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and perform preventative maintenance
  • Work on call as required and build custom parts on demand

Required skills

  • Training or certification in machine specific systems and electronics
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical component repair
  • Ability to use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC motors
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of hand tools and small power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
