Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Tech II at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment and systems within the facility in Suffolk, Virginia. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical problems, and ensuring that building systems operate efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all equipment and systems within the facility
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly
  • Inspect machinery and systems to diagnose malfunctions
  • Repair and maintain conveyor systems
  • Assemble, install, or repair electrical components and plumbing systems
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work
  • Work with outside contractors for major repair issues

Required skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years maintenance experience, preferably in distribution
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, conveyor systems, and plumbing
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, and repair instructions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Safety-minded with commitment to safe work practices
