Overview

The Maintenance Technician II at SHD Composite Materials Inc is responsible for ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of industrial machines and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This full-time role involves performing breakdown, planned, and preventative maintenance on a variety of production machinery while upholding safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct breakdown, planned, and preventative maintenance on production machinery
  • Ensure safe installation and maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and implement preventative solutions
  • Manage spares inventory and ensure proper identification and location
  • Engage in continuous improvement and propose solutions to encountered problems
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as requested

Required skills

  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting abilities (Mechanical, Electrical, PLC, Inverter, and Process)
  • Experience with performing preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures, blueprints, and manuals
  • Experience with line controls (PLCs, servomotors, VFDs, panels)
  • Basic electrical skills including motor control and electrical distribution
  • Self-management and teamwork capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Welding experience (preferred)
  • HS Diploma or GED required; two-year technical degree preferred
