Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Team Leader for their Grande Prairie Lumber Mill. This leadership role is crucial for ensuring safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in mill maintenance operations, primarily working on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through personal leadership and adherence to procedures
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities for efficient mill operation
  • Support the development and engagement of maintenance team members
  • Enhance reliability and continuous improvement in workflow and execution
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities
  • Track and communicate performance using standard tools and metrics
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience and/or maintenance related education
  • Proven leadership in safety and adherence to procedures
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Team-oriented leadership with support for diverse strengths
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Facilitation and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with performance tracking using standard tools
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Skilled in MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (preferably SAP)
