Job Description

Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader for their Grande Prairie Lumber Mill, specifically for a weekend shift spanning Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. This role will focus on leading maintenance activities, promoting safety, and fostering a strong culture of reliability and team development within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through personal leadership and adherence to procedures
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities for safe and efficient mill operation
  • Support development and engagement of maintenance team members through coaching and feedback
  • Strengthen reliability and continuous improvement by enhancing workflow and collaboration
  • Act as a key liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities
  • Track, measure, and communicate performance using standard tools and metrics
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience and/or maintenance related education
  • Proven leadership in safety management
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented leadership with flexibility and support for diverse strengths
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in performance tracking using standard tools
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Basic understanding of business and financial concepts
  • Proficient in MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (SAP preferred)
