Overview

The Maintenance Team Leader - Weekend Shift at Weyerhaeuser is responsible for the safe and effective coordination of maintenance activities at the Grande Prairie Lumber Mill. This role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement while providing leadership and support to the maintenance team during weekend operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through adherence to procedures and compliance
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities for safe and efficient operations
  • Support the development and engagement of maintenance team members through coaching and feedback
  • Improve workflow and collaboration to strengthen reliability and continuous improvement
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities
  • Track, measure, and communicate performance using standard tools and metrics
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience or related education
  • Proven leadership in safety and adherence to procedures
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Facilitation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience tracking and measuring performance
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Basic understanding of business and financial concepts
  • Skilled in MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (SAP preferred)
