Overview

The Maintenance Team Leader - Weekend Shift at Weyerhaeuser is responsible for the safe coordination and supervision of maintenance team members engaged in mill maintenance activities. This leadership role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, while serving as a vital link between Operations and Maintenance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through personal leadership and adherence to procedures
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Support the development of maintenance team members through coaching and feedback
  • Improve workflow and collaboration for reliability and continuous improvement
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities
  • Track and communicate performance using standard metrics
  • Support planning and scheduling of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience or related post-secondary education
  • Proven leadership in safety and adherence to procedures
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team alignment skills
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and facilitation skills
  • Experience tracking and measuring performance
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (SAP preferred)
