Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader for their Grande Prairie Lumber Mill, responsible for spearheading safety and operational improvements during the weekend shift. This leadership role demands effective supervision of maintenance team activities while supporting continuous improvement and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through personal leadership and adherence to procedures
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities to ensure efficient mill operation
  • Support the development and engagement of maintenance team members through coaching and feedback
  • Enhance reliability and continuous improvement by improving workflow and collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities and execution
  • Track, measure, and communicate performance using standard tools and metrics
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience or maintenance related education
  • Proven ability to lead safety through personal commitment and values
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate teams
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Team-oriented leadership essence, valuing diverse strengths
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Facilitation and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience tracking and measuring performance
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Skilled in MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (SAP preferred)
