Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader for their Grande Prairie Lumber Mill, focused on coordinating and supervising maintenance activities on the weekend shift. This leadership role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the team, acting as a key liaison between Operations and Maintenance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safety excellence through personal leadership and adherence to procedures
  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities for efficient mill operation
  • Support development and engagement of maintenance team members through coaching and feedback
  • Strengthen reliability and improve workflow and collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and Maintenance to align priorities
  • Track and communicate performance using standard tools and metrics
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet customer needs

Required skills

  • Industrial maintenance experience or maintenance-related education
  • Proven leadership in safety and compliance
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Team-oriented leadership with respect for diverse ideas
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated facilitation and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with performance tracking and metrics
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Skilled in MS Office, network applications, and CMMS (SAP preferred)
