Overview

Superior Dairy is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for 3rd shift to oversee maintenance and repair activities, ensuring safety and high equipment uptime. The role involves leading a team of skilled maintenance technicians, providing technical expertise, and managing maintenance schedules and projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance workforce on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide direction and oversee assignments for maintenance technicians
  • Review planning and scheduling with the maintenance manager
  • Audit and ensure quality of work performed by maintenance technicians
  • Convey and schedule maintenance activities with operations
  • Evaluate qualifications of maintenance technicians and recommend training
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
  • Identify corrective actions for technicians
  • Manage technician's schedules and timecards
  • Supervise preventative maintenance programs
  • Minimize equipment downtime through corrective and preventative maintenance
  • Lead and assist with capital improvement projects
  • Oversee installation and electrical setup of machinery
  • Supervise and assist with mechanical repairs

Required skills

  • PLC programming expertise
  • Experience with VFDs, servos, and HMIs
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Analysis of equipment problems and root cause identification
  • Project management skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with servo motors, encoders, pumps, and gearboxes
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Blow molding and ammonia/boiler systems experience (a plus)
  • Union and food facility experience (a plus)
