Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright to join their specialized portfolio enterprise in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will work on a variety of systems including pump systems, conveyors, motors, and more, allowing you to enhance your millwright skills in a hands-on environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and correct problems in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production
  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul plant production equipment, buildings, and grounds
  • Respond quickly to trouble calls from supervisors or operators/technicians
  • Assist Operating Engineers in maintenance of plant utilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance walkthroughs and inspections as necessary
  • Document shift logs, maintenance inspections, and meter readings
  • Ensure smooth communication during shift changes
  • Participate in process improvement teams as required

Required skills

  • Red Seal Millwright certification
  • Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting 50 pounds
  • Experience with maintenance trades including rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, and hydraulic systems
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in production-related work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas
