Overview

Consolidated Metals Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team at the Elkhart, Indiana plant, specializing in steel tubing products. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to maintain and repair tube mill production equipment while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and rebuild of tube mill production and cutting equipment
  • Follow safety procedures including LOTO protocols
  • Monitor and complete reports on equipment performance using management systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints and manuals for effective repairs
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively
  • Initiate troubleshooting to resolve mechanical issues
  • Ensure work areas are inspection-ready after mechanical tasks
  • Support and motivate co-workers
  • Report safety, quality, and operational issues
  • Adhere to PPE compliance while working

Required skills
