Overview

Consolidated Metals Inc. is seeking a motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join their team at the Elkhart, IN plant. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to maintain and repair tube mill equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform safe repairs and rebuilds of tube mill production and cutting equipment
  • Maintain equipment according to safety procedures, including LOTO procedures
  • Monitor, inspect, and complete reports on equipment using maintenance management systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings for repairs
  • Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring devices effectively
  • Initiate troubleshooting techniques for quality and mechanical issues
  • Complete mechanical tasks for breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure work areas are inspection and audit ready after tasks are completed
  • Motivate and guide co-workers
  • Report safety, quality, operational, or output issues to management
