Description: SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations for Boyle Transportation's fleet, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role leads maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and works closely with operations and safety teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities meet applicable regulatory requirements and company standards while supporting operational goals through effective planning, resource allocation, and budget management. This position monitors maintenance performance, manages vendor relationships and inventory, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, control costs, and extend the life cycle of company assets in a fast-paced transportation environment.Duties/Responsibilities:Lead and manage the maintenance team including techniciansDevelop and implement strategic maintenance plans that align with company goals.Set performance targets and KPI's for fleet, technicians and company in regard to maintenance.Collaborate with internal departments such as safety, operations, accounting, etc to improve fleet reliability.Oversee maintenance programs related to the fleet equipment.Ensure compliance with federal, state and local DOT regulations and standards.Adhering to maintenance budgets ensuring cost effective operations without compromising safety or complianceNegotiate contracts with external parts suppliers and vendors and evaluate performance regularly to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.Leverage maintenance programs (ie. Fleetio, Samsara) tracking, reporting and forecastingIdentify and implement new maintenance practices and new technology to align with company goalsPlan and manage lifecycle replacement strategies for equipmentWork with HR to recruit, train, and retain skilled personnel for the maintenance teamPerforms other duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications, Experience and Skills:Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred Diesel Mechanic (ASE) Certification, preferredCommercial Driver's License (CDL), preferred7+ years of experience in Fleet Maintenance required5+ years of experience in a leadership role requiredCapable of acquiring a Department of Defense Security Clearance.Deep understanding of diesel engines, trailers, shop operations, and regulatory requirementsStrong leadership capabilitiesProven track record in reducing downtime, managing large budgets, and implementing process improvementsAbility to effectively manage competing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailHigh level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential informationExcellent PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google WorkspaceSupervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have any direct reportsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75 % of the timeMust be able to occasionally lift 50+ poundsTravel Requirements: This position will be required to travel to each Boyle location quarterlyBenefits:This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
