Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for their Engineered Wood Products business in Kenora, Ontario. This role focuses on leading maintenance operations, ensuring safety, optimizing machinery productivity, and improving processes, all while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance associates and functions with a focus on safety and operational excellence
  • Drive improvements in maintenance processes and ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Manage department budget and oversee performance reviews and coaching of associates
  • Work with maintenance team to enhance maintenance functions and reliability
  • Establish positive relationships with operations and maintenance personnel
  • Contribute to strategic planning and make recommendations based on analytical data
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues as necessary

Required skills

  • Five years of experience in a maintenance leadership role in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Proven commitment to safety and safety initiatives
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience in root cause analysis and preventive maintenance methods
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Willingness to travel and support a 24/7 operating environment
