Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for their Kenora TimberStrand manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing maintenance operations, promoting safety, and enhancing operational efficiency while ensuring that the facility's upkeep meets company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wood products and manufacturing, coupled with a commitment to developing people and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead all maintenance associates and functions, ensuring safety and productivity.
  • Drive improvements in maintenance processes and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Accountable for department budget and cost management.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide training and coaching for associates.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and offer solutions to operational issues.
  • Build collaborative relationships with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment issues.

Required skills

  • Five years of experience in a maintenance leadership role in manufacturing
  • Strong commitment to safety and safety initiatives
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming/troubleshooting
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance methods
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with team members
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and physical demands of an industrial environment
  • Preferred: B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, knowledge of LEAN principles, and familiarit
