Maintenance Director If you are the person who notices what needs to be fixed before someone must ask, keeps a building running the way it should, and takes pride in leading a strong maintenance team, we want to meet you. Pomeroy Living is looking for an experienced Maintenance Director to lead the facilities and maintenance operations of one of our skilled nursing communities. This is not a sit behind a desk maintenance position. We need a hands-on leader who knows buildings, understands how to prioritize, can manage a team, and is comfortable jumping in when something needs to get done. In senior living, a well-maintained building is about much more than appearance. What You'll Own You will be responsible for the overall condition, safety, and operation of the community, including: Leading and developing the maintenance teamOverseeing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and other building systemsStaying ahead of preventative maintenance instead of waiting for things to breakTroubleshooting problems and knowing when your team can handle the work and when a qualified contractor is neededMaintaining the community in accordance with applicable healthcare, safety, fire, and building requirementsManaging vendors and contractors and holding them accountable for quality, cost, and completionPlanning and overseeing repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projectsManaging department expenses and making responsible decisions with the maintenance budgetMaintaining emergency preparedness systems and responding when building emergencies occurWorking closely with the Administrator and leadership team to keep the community safe, functional, and looking its best Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who knows their way around a building and knows how to lead people. You should have: At least 5 years of facilities or maintenance management experiencePrevious leadership or supervisory experienceStrong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systemsExperience with preventative maintenance programs and life safety requirementsStrong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make sound decisions when something goes wrongExperience managing contractors, vendors, projects, and department expensesThe ability to work hands on when needed and safely use common hand and power toolsThe ability to lift to 50 poundsHealthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living experience is strongly preferred.
