Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Coordinator at NAPL will coordinate and conduct maintenance activities for park grounds and facilities under the supervision of the Parks Superintendent. The role includes improving maintenance processes, managing work orders, and participating in daily operations such as field maintenance and facility cleaning.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide regular updates and communication to the Park Superintendent
  • Assist in creating monthly reports and managing asset replacement schedules
  • Attend regular meetings with department leadership
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance of assets and oversee seasonal crews
  • Maintain a work order system, keeping records and developing reports
  • Participate in snow and ice removal from facilities
  • Operate light machinery and various tools
  • Perform janitorial and custodial tasks related to park facilities
  • Apply pesticides and herbicides to park grounds
  • Conduct routine inspections on playground equipment and structures

Required skills

  • Knowledge of maintenance management and work order systems
  • Experience in turf management and athletic field maintenance
  • Knowledge of chemical application processes
  • Familiarity with park and facility inspection procedures
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Skill in planning and scheduling work
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports and data
  • Understanding of contracts and joint agreements
  • Valid state driver's license
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (within six months of hire)
  • Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification (within 12 months of hire)
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicator License
