Overview

M.S. Aerospace Inc. is seeking an experienced Machinist to join their team in Acton, California. The role involves performing machine setups, interpreting design schematics, and manufacturing fixtures and tooling to support production and inspection processes. As a leading aerospace manufacturer, MSA focuses on producing high-quality specialty fasteners for various sectors including government and commercial aviation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform machine setups and interpret design schematics
  • Cut and shape dies and assemble completed parts
  • Manufacture fixtures and tooling for production machining, assembly, and inspection
  • Read prints and sketches and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Collaborate with engineering on design for manufacturability
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Monitor several machines and ensure regular attendance

Required skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machining or tool making
  • Proficiency with tool room machinery including Bridgeport Mill and Hardinge Lathe
  • Ability to produce precision components with tolerances of +/- .0001
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
  • Experience working with carbide is a plus
