Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc., is seeking experienced CNC Machinists (Lathe and Mill), and Manual Machinists to join our second shift team and help us grow in Louisville, KY. This position will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts to customer specifications. SHIFT DETAILS: Second Shift: Schedule: 3 days a week, 3:15 pm to 4:15 am Shift Rotation: The workweek consists of 3 consecutive workdays, alternating from Monday to Wednesday one week and Wednesday to Friday the following week. This allows for 6 consecutive days off (Thursday-Tuesday) every other week! $2.50 shift differential Option to bank holiday hours for additional PTO or receive holiday pay if the holiday falls on a scheduled day off. Overtime (OT): Pay for hours worked beyond 37.5 hours. Double time (DT): For all hours worked after midnight on Saturday and all day Sunday through Monday morning. MACHINIST PAY SCALES BASED ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (Min-Max): Machinist 1: $24.00 - $29.00 Machinist 2: $28.00 - $32.00 Machinist 3: $31.00 - $36.00 Machinist 4: $35.00 - $41.00 ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Measures, marks, and lays out dimensions and reference points on materials and workpieces for machining and assembly operations.Reviews blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, manuals and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, machining sequences, setup requirements and fabrication methods.Selects, aligns, secures, and sets up fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine tools including mills, lathes, horizontal mills, vertical turret lathes, and portable machining equipment.Calculates and adjusts machining parameters such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and tooling requirements; inputs, retrieves, and edits CNC machine control programs as needed.Operates machine tools to produce precision parts, monitors machining operations, identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and makes necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.Inspects and verifies finished workpieces and assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.Performs trial runs and machine setups to verify accuracy of machine settings, tooling, and programmed control data.Fits, assembles, repairs, and rebuilds components and equipment, including teardown, inspection, replacement of parts, alignment, and functional testing.Installs machined or fabricated replacement parts in machinery and equipment and tests completed units to verify proper operation and performance.Develops specifications from general descriptions and creates sketches or drawings for parts and products to be fabricated.Collaborates with engineers, programmers, production personnel, and other team members to resolve machining, fabrication, and assembly issues.Performs all work safely and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. One to three years of experience and/or training as a Journeyman Machinist or equivalent combination of education and experience (Journeyman Certification is preferred). Must possess excellent communication and people skills. Strong diligence required. Possesses strong analytical skills. Works independently under the pressure of deadline commitments. Required understanding and comprehension of blueprints and designs from sketches. Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Flexibility in the work schedule is needed to meet overtime requirements.
