Job Description

Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will contribute to the manufacturing of high-quality weapon systems and accessories. This role focuses on maintaining productivity by troubleshooting production issues and performing setups under the guidance of engineers and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate within the framework of operator work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and machinery
  • Proficiently operate machines and processes in the assigned cell
  • Make tool offsets to ensure quality parts production
  • Clear and address common machine alarms
  • Troubleshoot machine issues impacting production or quality
  • Conduct repetitive inspections using precision instruments
  • Assist with training fellow machine operators
  • Promote environmental health and safety principles
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED; 2-4 years of manufacturing experience
  • Technical degree or apprenticeship in CNC operations is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machine programming languages (G & M codes)
  • Ability to interpret machine programming and utilize overrides
  • Familiarity with metalworking tools and practices
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to company values
