Job Description

Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you'll be part of a team responsible for operating machinery and maintaining production quality in a manufacturing environment. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Conform to applicable work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment
  • Operate all machines and processes in the assigned cell
  • Make tool offsets and calibrate tooling as required
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms and production issues
  • Perform inspections of parts using precision measurement tools
  • Assist in training machine operators
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and productivity improvements

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience or related education/training
  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machine tool programming languages (G & M codes)
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret machine tool programming
  • Knowledge of metalworking tools and practices
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
