Job Description

Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality weapon systems and accessories. You will work under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineers and Supervisors to troubleshoot production issues and maintain productivity in your assigned cell.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate within all applicable work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment
  • Perform setup, tool offsets, and calibration as required
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common machine alarms
  • Conduct repetitive inspections using precision instruments
  • Assist in monitoring process flow to meet production targets
  • Train machine operators in their duties
  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience or related education/training
  • Knowledge of GD&T, machine tool programming (G & M codes), and blueprint reading
  • Ability to interpret machine programming to anticipate actions
  • Knowledge of metalworking tools and work holding
  • Strong teamwork and proactive cooperation skills
