Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality weapon systems and accessories, ensuring production efficiency and quality through troubleshooting and setup. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery, maintaining safety and quality standards, and collaborating with team members to meet production goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Conform to operator work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of the work area
  • Operate machines and processes in the assigned cell
  • Make offsets to tools and preset tools as needed
  • Clear and correct common machine alarms
  • Troubleshoot machine issues affecting production or quality
  • Perform repetitive inspection of parts using precision instruments
  • Assist and monitor process flow to meet production requirements
  • Assist in training machine operators
  • Commit to environmental health and safety principles

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED, with 2-4 years of manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machine tool programming languages (G & M codes)
  • Ability to interpret machine tool programming languages
  • Knowledge of metalworking tools and practices
  • Teamwork and proactive cooperation skills
