Job Description

Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will be part of a team that engineers and manufactures premium firearms and accessories. Your role involves maintaining productivity and quality in manufacturing by troubleshooting machine issues and conducting inspections while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate all machines and processes within the assigned cell
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of the work area and equipment
  • Make offsets to tools to produce quality parts and calibrate tools as needed
  • Clear and correct common machine alarms
  • Perform repetitive inspections of parts using precision instruments
  • Assist and monitor process flow to meet production requirements
  • Train machine operators in their assigned duties
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED; 2-4 years of manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machine tool programming languages (G & M codes)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and machine programming languages
  • Knowledge of metalworking tools and practices
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
