Job Description

Overview

As a Machinist 1 at Daniel Defense, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, working with advanced machinery and tools to ensure quality production of weapon systems and accessories. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve production issues while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate within the framework of operator work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and machines.
  • Perform setups and tool calibration for efficient operation.
  • Clear and resolve common machine alarms.
  • Conduct repetitive inspection of parts using precision instruments.
  • Assist and monitor process flow to meet production goals.
  • Train machine operators in their assigned duties.
  • Promote environmental health and safety principles.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED; 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Technical degree or approved apprenticeship in CNC operation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and machine tool programming languages.
  • Ability to interpret machine programming and perform offsets.
  • Familiarity with metalworking tools and practices.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
