Overview

The Machine Operator Trainee at WestRock in Hendersonville, North Carolina, will train to become a proficient Gluer Operator, assisting experienced Glue Operators and learning to set up and operate gluing machines. The role emphasizes safety, quality control, and efficiency in packaging operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn to set up jobs according to job ticket instructions
  • Review job tickets for specifications and set-up requirements
  • Run equipment at required speeds while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Follow all standard operating procedures related to the job
  • Monitor production schedules for current and next jobs
  • Use hand tools to form cartons correctly
  • Verify materials for Feeder, Packer, and Pad-Lockers
  • Complete production reports and logbooks
  • Maintain records and keep work area neat and clean
  • Assist other operators and perform routine and preventive maintenance
