Job Description

Overview

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Machine Operator I to fabricate products using various tools and machines while ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards. This role requires the ability to perform preventative maintenance, operate machinery, and contribute to a collaborative environment focused on customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate assemblies and parts for products per engineering documents
  • Set-up and lay out work using fixtures and guides
  • Review finished assemblies to ensure accuracy against drawings
  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions
  • Reject defective parts according to policy
  • Participate in cross-training of team members
  • Perform complex troubleshooting
  • Attend cross-functional meetings as required

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 - 3 years of production fabrication or comparable experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic reading/writing skills
  • Basic PC skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of 6S
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for long periods
  • Team-oriented and adaptable
