Job Description

Overview

The Machine Operator position at Metalcraft of Mayville involves producing rotational molded parts while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires operating machinery, performing mold changes, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with team members to achieve production goals during the 2nd shift hours from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate rotational molding machine to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale metrics
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and comply with safety regulations
  • Transfer plastic resin into ovens and molds for forming
  • Assemble and dismantle molds as a team
  • Remove molded parts from molds and monitor part temperature
  • Conduct mold changes using overhead cranes and rigging
  • Use feedback from product inspections to drive process improvements
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs
  • Communicate actions and needs to maintain continuity among work shifts

Required skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform dimensional measuring and use precision measurement tools
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform various physical tasks
  • Understanding of "G" and "M" codes and basic computer skills
  • Team collaboration and coordination skills
  • Self-motivation and multi-tasking abilities
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing environment preferred
