Overview

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) position at Loram Maintenance of Way involves operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role requires a focus on safety, technical knowledge of machinery, and the ability to perform various operational tasks while traveling to different locations as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain railway maintenance equipment
  • Conduct machine inspections and report defects
  • Perform common repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Lead job briefings and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Document daily field reports and administrative tasks

Required skills

  • 3+ Months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent
  • 2+ Years technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic operations
  • Heavy equipment operation experience (Backhoe, Excavator, etc.)
  • Basic administration and computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and maintain railroad certifications
  • Experience with data systems and remote equipment operations
