Overview

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) role at Loram Maintenance of Way involves operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This field-based position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to conduct machine inspections, perform maintenance, and document operations accurately.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment
  • Conduct machine inspections to identify problems and communicate conditions
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to schedules and policies
  • Lead job briefings and ensure safe work processes are followed
  • Document daily field reports and administrative activities

Required skills

  • 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent
  • 2+ years of technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations
  • Heavy equipment operation experience, such as Excavator or Backhoe
  • Basic administrative computer skills and knowledge of MS Windows
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
