Overview

The Machine Operator 1 position at Loram Maintenance of Way involves operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment in a field-based role. The operator will work with various types of equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency while conducting inspections and repairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment
  • Conduct machine inspections to identify problems and communicate conditions
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to set schedules
  • Lead job briefings and follow safe work processes and procedures
  • Document daily field reporting and other administrative tasks

Required skills

  • 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment
  • 2+ years of technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations
  • Experience as a heavy equipment operator (Backhoe, Excavator, or similar)
  • Basic administration and computer skills, including MS Windows
  • Ability to maintain Railroad Certifications and valid Driver's License
