Job Description

Overview

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) at Loram Maintenance of Way is a field-based position responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to operate on-track equipment under supervision while performing necessary inspections and maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment
  • Conduct machine inspections to identify issues and communicate them
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to set schedules and policies
  • Lead job briefings and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Document daily field reports and administrative reporting

Required skills

  • 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent
  • 2+ years technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic operations
  • Experience as a heavy equipment operator (Backhoe, Excavator, etc.)
  • Basic administration and computer skills
  • Proficient in MS Windows and data systems
  • Valid Driver's License and certifications in CPR/First Aid
