Overview

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) position at Loram Maintenance of Way involves operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment in a field-based role. The operator will be responsible for compliance with safety protocols and conducting machine inspections while communicating effectively with supervisors and team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Loram's on-track maintenance equipment and vehicles
  • Conduct machine inspections to identify and report problems
  • Perform maintenance and repairs according to schedules and policies
  • Lead job briefings and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Accurately document field reports, expenses, and administrative tasks

Required skills

  • 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent
  • 2+ years of technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation (e.g., Backhoe, Excavator)
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of MS Windows
  • Ability to maintain Railroad Certifications and valid Driver's License
