Overview

The Machine Automation Technician at Trans-Matic Mfg Inc will be responsible for technical issue resolution and driving continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment. This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, and cost management while assisting in the training and skill development of team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Business Unit Leader in achieving technical goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Provide training and skill development for team members
  • Understand manufacturing costs and develop plans for productivity improvements
  • Lead root cause and corrective action activities alongside Production Quality Engineer
  • Ensure effective use of technical problem-solving tools
  • Operate machinery as needed to maintain production
  • Serve as back-up Business Unit Leader when required
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completions
  • Initiate and oversee continuous improvement initiatives
  • Create work instructions and documentation for machines and conduct necessary training

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of hands-on machine building experience
  • Mechanical skills
  • Understanding of servo motors, PLC, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, PLEX, ERP)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
  • Experience in technical root cause analysis
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
