Overview

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Ontario Cancer Institute. The role involves supporting a physician and physician assistant in a clinic setting dedicated to caring for oncology patients. As part of a small, team-oriented environment, the MA will coordinate various aspects of patient care, emphasizing effective communication and multi-tasking skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the clinical care team to support patient care during treatment
  • Room patients and take vital signs
  • Complete chart preparation and make patient calls regarding results and inquiries
  • Manage computer tasks including scheduling new patients and follow-up visits
  • Carry out related paperwork and maintain work queue

Required skills

  • Experience with EPIC systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with oncology patients
  • MA certification from an approved agency
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification
