Overview

Med-Cor staffing is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join their team in New York. The role offers various job structures, including Per-Diem options, contracts with guaranteed hours, and travel opportunities, catering to the flexibility required by healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Record a patient's medical history accurately
  • Take and record measurements of vital signs
  • Observe patients to identify progress and side effects of medications
  • Monitor patient condition and compose patient charts
  • Assist patients with daily activities like eating and bathing
  • Administer injections and prescribed medications
  • Clean and dress wounds
  • Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients
  • Communicate with patients' family or friends regarding care

Required skills

  • Proven experience as LPN or similar role
  • Ability to undertake diverse care tasks in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress
  • Successful completion of LPN license program
