Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking Long-Term Instructional Assistants for the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West in Toledo, OH. This role involves providing support to students and staff, promoting student success through individualized instruction, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. The position allows for the development of meaningful relationships and contributes to academic and behavioral goals over an extended assignment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing the educational program for students with disabilities as per IEPs
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Maintain clear communication with the teacher to ensure effective educational plan implementation
  • Assist with documentation and data collection to monitor student progress
  • Support students in completing educational tasks
  • Manage classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Assist with crisis intervention when necessary
  • Supervise students during non-classroom settings
  • Assist with routine clerical tasks and classroom maintenance
  • Maintain accurate student records and submit reports on time
  • Provide physical assistance to students as needed

Required skills

  • Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license
