Overview

Weyerhaeuser Company Limited - Hudson Bay Timberlands is looking for a Log Haul Specialist to enhance their Hudson Bay operations. This role focuses on optimizing log transportation, ensuring compliance, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, all while working primarily in an office with some field engagement and travel. The position allows for hybrid flexibility after initial training.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion safety values and safety culture.
  • Ensure compliant delivery of logs to Weyerhaeuser mills and customers.
  • Secure and manage adequate trucking capacity for efficient operation.
  • Oversee log truck fleet management and contractor performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Utilize logistics tools for increased efficiency and safety.
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and adapting to changing needs.
  • Knowledge of truck tracking systems (GPS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Solid planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for audits.
