Job Description

Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Log Haul Specialist for its Hudson Bay operations team in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. This office-based role involves optimizing log transportation performance, ensuring compliance, and building relationships with stakeholders, with occasional field engagement and travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion safety values and foster a strong safety culture
  • Ensure compliant delivery of logs to mills and customers
  • Identify and onboard adequate trucking capacity
  • Coordinate and oversee log truck fleet management activities
  • Monitor trucking contractor performance and address compliance issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Utilize logistics tools for increased efficiency
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage contractors and adapt to changing business needs
  • Knowledge of GPS and computer-based truck tracking systems
  • Planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
